I'm sorry to tell you there is no shortcut to losing weight in your thighs. This question is much like the question: "How can I flatten my belly?" Some people hold onto fat longest in their midsection and others hold onto it longest in their thighs. If you are one who holds onto weight in the thighs the only answer to losing that weight is to go on a sensible diet. If you want to lose the fat faster (and increase your metabolism) you will also exercise. Both cardio & strength training are recommended.



What Not To Do



Don't go on a starvation low calorie diet. This will backfire. Your body will go into "starvation mode" and you will only lose muscle (not fat) and worst of all when you go off the diet you will simply gain back all of the weight you lost except that it will come back as fat and not muscle! Never go on a diet that requires you to eat fewer than 1500 calories a day. Low calorie diets are a very old idea that has long since been improved upon.

The right diet to slim down the fat in your thighs is one which is designed to turbo charge fat loss instead of muscle loss. You need a diet that doesn't emphasize eating less but instead emphasizes eating the right things. This common problem is accompanied by a widespread belief that you can lose the fat on a "mess area" by exercising that particular area. Some people do hundreds of crunches in attempts to flatten their stomachs, others buy the "miracle" ab gadgets and bulky "hip slimming" machines from TV.

Do you know anybody who does not wish to get rid of the fat on one particular area of their body? I have not met anybody like that!

"If I could only get rid of my big gut"! "Oh, I wish my thighs were slimmer"! Does it sound familiar?

Even skinny people are often unhappy with the excess fat in some areas of their body. We've all seen those skinny men with huge bellies!

Were you about to call the 800 number to buy the "latest and greatest" ab roller?

Hold on to your hard-earned moolah!

The belief that you can lose fat on a specific part of your body by exercising that area is a myth! Targeting the "spots" of your body for fat loss is called "spot reducing", and it simply does not have effect.

Exercising certain areas of your body will shore up the muscles there, but it will not remove the fat from them. Your newly developed muscles will be hidden under the layer of fat.

What about those heavily pitched creams, wraps and rubber belts that supposedly "melt the fat away"? Those are just plainly scams.

The creams and body wraps can temporarily dispense your skin smoother appearance, but they will do absolutely nothing for fat loss. All kinds of weight loss belts, pants and other clothing will make you sweat, thereby causing some loss of water weight which is mistaken by most people for fat loss. But they will not help you lose even one gram of the actual fat!

There is no way to tell your body where exactly it should lose its fat.

The only healthy everlasting way to lose weight is by making lifestyle changes to incorporate healthy eating and increased activity. When you do that, the fat will come off everywhere on your body, including those "trouble spots". And yes, you will then have that body that you always dreamed of!

Each person's body has its own unique figuration and fat distribution pattern. The places where the fat goes first are, unfortunately, where it comes off last. So the only way to lose that fat is by losing weight in general.

Moving into the third month of following the law of weight loss, their confidence will be boosted. Why? This is because they are in the phase where by visible effects will take place like their stomach gets flatter. They will receive many compliments from friends and family. The way they dress will change and will get some glances of admiration from other people.

Their confidence will be further boosted when they here their friends say "Hi Mary! My gosh! you look so different! You have really slimmed down a lot and your skin look so healthy!"

These are just a few positive effects that the people that follow the law of weight loss. Most of them that experience these say that their lives have completely changed. They never turned back and because they experienced such a positive impact on their lives, they made fitness and exercise their main priority. This automatically keeps them on track and stick to the exercise schedule. It has become their lifestyle.

What about the ones that did not follow the law of weight loss? Will they be able to lose belly fat and get a flat stomach?

Well, it is clear that they will not enjoy all the benefits that the people that obeyed experienced. These are the people that want results fast and do not want to put in the effort.

Sometimes I am really sick and tired of people that I really want to help but the only response I get is "I want to lose 10 kilograms. I can only workout Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. I don't want to diet and don't ask me to cut down on my alcohol because I want to have a life." In my mind, I am thinking what life! An unhealthy and overweight life that you came here looking for me to help you change it in the first place?

It is just unfortunate that some people do not want to commit to something but yet wanted something else so bad. Yeah, they will pay the gym fees that cost them perhaps thousand over dollars a year and personal training that cost them even more but this something money cant buy.

But little did they not know, even after being repeated bombarded into their head, they cannot lose weight if they do not want to follow the law of weight loss. They will look and feel the same even after years.

Their friends and family will say "Mary, what have you been up to lately? Your are not here every Tuesday and Thursday for happy hour."

"Oh, I have been going to the gym regularly." Said Mary.

"Oh! That figures. Are you trying to put on weight? You look bigger. It is really working for you."

This is another common mistake that people that do not follow the law of weight loss fall into. A lot of them eat much more after exercising because they thought they have burned so many calories. This makes them fatter!

Most of the time, those who refuse to follow the law of weight loss will just remain the same. They will not be able to lose their belly fat and get a flat stomach. They wont feel healthier, they wont lighter and their weight remains the same. Their waistline remains the same and the way they dress remains the same. Everything is just the same except that they have wasted so much time and money. Their hope crashes and burned.

It's possible for everyone to gain their dream body. Even for those skinny guys that have almost given up, feeling that they can't even put on one single pound on your body, there are many ways that can make a huge difference.

Another tip that aids the muscle gain is to work out in the afternoon or evening. Since the body has a different metabolism over the day there are times when you can optimize the work-out for the calories that are being spent.

It's not the best idea to work out in the morning, this is when the body is using most energy and your effort will be pretty much useless. Make into a rule to always have at least 2 meals before you work out. If you've been skinny your whole life you might have to expect the results to come slower than for those that have a less efficient metabolism. Keep that in mind and be patient and don't give up.

To get the body you wish for is something that is happening over time and even if you can't see results straight away, they are most certainly on their way. Keep up the good work and don't give up.
